- CBIP brings-out various publications on Technical Literature and Journals which have wide circulation not only within the country but also in several countries through out the world.
- The Board publishes manuals, guidelines, specifications, etc. on Design, Construction and Management aspects.
- It also undertakes specific case studies. Till date, it has published about 850 technical publications and some of these are being used as text/reference books in technical institutions and design offices.
- Apart from the above, periodicals/journals being are published regularly to intensify the dissemination of information.

- The "Water and Energy Research Digest" is aimed at furnishing to the research community a gist of the research work.
- The publication "Far and Near in Water and Energy" presents to the engineers, scientists and managers short extracts of news from the technical literature received from foreign countries as well as reports of developments in various parts of the country. "Water and Energy Abstracts”, and "Newsletters" are other periodicals being issued by the Board for enhancing knowledge of the professionals.
